Our story

It started with one folding table at a Saturday market

In the spring of 2016, Linda Miller rented a table at the Helena farmers' market and sold twelve stoneware bowls she had sourced from a small pottery two states over. They sold out before noon. The following Saturday she brought thirty, plus a stack of cotton throws. Those sold out too.

Nine years later, Aljarash Home Co. is still built on the same idea: a very short list of household goods that are genuinely worth owning, described honestly, priced fairly, and shipped by the same people who chose them.

We deliberately keep the catalog to around a dozen products. It means we know every item by hand — how it wears, how it washes, how it behaves after three winters — and we can answer your questions without reading from a supplier's spec sheet.

How we work

From shelf to doorstep

Everything we sell is stocked physically at 368 Pennsylvania Avenue. We do not drop-ship, and we do not list items we have never held. When your order is confirmed, it is picked from a shelf a few feet from the packing table, wrapped in recycled tissue and kraft paper, and taped into a right-sized box — no plastic pillows, no oversized cartons.

Fragile stoneware travels double-boxed with a corrugated divider. Textiles ship in compostable mailers. Every parcel includes a printed packing slip and a return card with pre-filled instructions, because nobody should have to hunt through a website to send something back.

Suppliers

We work with fourteen suppliers, eight of them U.S.-based workshops and family manufacturers. We visit or video-call each of them at least once a year and ask the same questions about materials, working conditions and lead times. Where an item is imported, the product page says so plainly.
